Headed by the Macdonald Brothers and Mike Bono, Can-Am Fruits has been supplying the Montreal market with fresh fruits and vegetables for over 35 years. Effective January 1, 2019, the acquisition expands the Montreal-based firm’s capacity to provide high-quality fruits and vegetables, and deliver unparalleled service.

The two companies’ similar backgrounds and values mean the process of joining forces will be almost seamless. Both Can-Am and 4 Seasons began as family businesses, founded by the Macdonald and Piacentini families respectively. Both companies share the same passion and vision for the food industry, and believe that quality service and products are the key to success. Their combined expertise will enable them to better serve their customers in the Greater Montreal area, Gatineau, Monteregie, Ottawa and the Laurentians. Can-Am’s new 4 Seasons division will be headed by Vice Presidents Mike Sabbagh and Mario Piacentini.

Can-Am and its new division, 4 Seasons, will occupy a 50,000-square-foot CanadaGAP food safety certified facility. Newly renovated, the facility will supply over 2000 products to their customers, while its enhanced product traceability and quality control processes will ensure customer satisfaction.

The passionate, energetic team created by the acquisition is made up of knowledgeable people with a drive to revolutionize the industry. Can-Am Fruits and 4 Seasons are already hard at work on two major new projects, a Quebec locally grown program, which aims to provide more locally sourced produce to customers, and a program to develop electric reefers and trucks and further shrink the company’s carbon footprint. No doubt more innovative projects will be on the drawing board soon.
